About the Founders
We are Laura, an occupational therapist, and Cassandra, mindfulness teacher and wellbeing coach, and we are joining forces to answer the call to help women on their journey as caregivers, providing the support, resources and community that we wish we'd had, and know that women caregivers need.
We wish we would have had support and a better way when we were caring for our mom. Many women are caregivers or will be at some point in their life, whether we have a special-needs child, a parent with Alzheimer’s, an ill partner, or are in a caregiving profession such as being a nurse, therapist, or teacher. The women we talk with describe the overwhelm, sadness, and frustration that we knew too well as caregivers, ourselves.
They tell us their struggle with finding any time to themselves, well-meaning friends that don’t get it, mental and physical fatigue, and feeling like a teakettle ready to boil over.
These brave women caregivers explain that they are secretly afraid that they cannot handle this, that they will fail their loved one, that no one really cares or supports them tangibly, they may hurt their loved one, or that they are compromising too much.
